My basil pesto recipe is intoxicating with fresh basil leaves, lemony tang, and rich texture. I'm adding this recipe as a topping to our Classic Hummus and there's plenty more to add to pasta salads.
In a food processor, add the basil, garlic, lemon, walnuts, parmesan and sea salt and pulse a few times.
Slowly drizzle in the extra virgin olive oil until smooth.
On a plate, spoon the hummus leaving a hole in the middle, add the pesto and drizzle extra virgin olive oil. Have leftover pesto? add pastas, use as veggie dip and spoon some in a hot soup for a deep flavor!
